Structure and function of proteins
Haruki Nakamura (Institute of Protein Research of Osaka University)
The evolutional history of all the organism on earth is reflected in the structure and dynamics of various proteins precisely constructed, and is packed into the sequence of amino acids consisted of an one-dimensional information. It can be said that the stored genome information gives us a glance of the history. Extracting the vast one-directional information, and understanding the protein structure, dynamics, and the process of translating into functional active form are the main interests in modern biology.
